A distinctive Chinese antique sideboard from Dongbei, China, crafted from pine wood approximately 90 years ago. Originally used as a traditional rice storage or household storage cabinet, the piece has been thoughtfully modified into a practical sideboard while preserving its original painted decoration.

The front features traditional Chinese floral painting with vases and flowers. In Chinese culture, the vase is often associated with peace and harmony, while flowers represent prosperity, growth, beauty, and abundance—together expressing wishes for a peaceful and flourishing home.

The original painted surface has been carefully hand-restored to retain its aged colour, natural wear, and decorative details rather than making the piece look newly finished.

Behind the four doors are two spacious cupboard compartments with movable shelves, providing flexible storage for tableware, glassware, books, media equipment, or everyday household items. The back can also be modified to provide cable access, making the cabinet particularly practical as a TV console or entertainment unit. Its generous surface and enclosed storage also make it well suited as a buffet or dining room sideboard.
